Medicare Supplement Plans

MEDICARE SUPPLEMENT PLANS IN NORTH DAKOTA

Medicare Part A: Hospital Insurance

Medicare Part A helps to pay for care you receive in a hospital without costing you any additional premium. It covers:

  • Inpatient hospital care
  • Skilled nursing facilities following a hospital stay
  • Hospice care
  • Some home healthcare

Medicare Part B: Medical Insurance

Medicare Part B helps to pay for some medical services and supplies not covered by Medicare Part A. While it does require a premium, it includes preventive services:

  • Doctor and other healthcare provider services
  • Outpatient hospital care (when medically necessary)
  • Some other medical services and supplies not covered by Medicare Part A (when medically necessary)

Medicare Part C: Medicare Advantage

Medicare Part C, or Medicare Advantage, combines both Medicare Part A and Medicare Part Band is offered through private insurance companies. It can require a monthly premium. Enrollees must also continue to pay their Medicare Part B premium:

Medicare Part D: Prescription Drug Coverage

Medicare Part D is an optional prescription drug benefits plan. Part D plans are offered by private insurers and are available to anyone enrolled in Medicare Part A or B. You can join a Medicare prescription drug coverage plan in two ways; purchase a plan and add it to your Original Medicare plan or enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan that includes Part D coverage.

Medicare Supplement

Medicare Supplement insurance (Medigap) is provided by private insurance companies to pay for healthcare costs that Medicare does not cover, like:

  • Deductibles
  • Copayments
  • Coinsurance
  • Care received while traveling outside the U.S.
